Hari Raya Aidilfitri version (Ketupat)



Hai, Hari Raya is coming... this a festival fest that were celebrate by muslim all over the world. more information about Hari Raya Aidilfitri can be found at www.esongket.blogspot.com. Today, i will tell only about ketupat.

Ketupat is a main food that served with rendang, kuah lodeh and sambal satay. Ketupat come with different shape and size but the most common ketupat you can see in the first picture.

Process to make ketupat start with weaving a coconut leaves. It can be difficult for inexperience peoples to woven the coconut leaves so that it can form a case. (luckly i still know how to woven the ketupat hi hi hi). The case we called as a ketupat. When you get a case shape from the woven process, we need to fill in with rice. But remember, the rice must be cleaned with water first.

Do not fill in too much or too small amount of rice in the ketupat. You can fill in the rice approximately half full in the ketupat. Then you boil it in water until all rice is cook. If you fill in too much rice in the ketupat. It become hard and if it's less the ketupat will too soft to eat.

i know a few shape of ketupat. We have ketupat pasar, ketupat jambu, ketupat satay, ketupat jantung, ketupat bawang and etc.
